Here here....surging is what shaggs blokes. The idea is to get around as quick as possible....not drop blokes. The more consistent the group rides the fresher blokes will stay and thus the overall ride average will increase accordingly.

I sat behind Parksey down Como this morning and he was a perfect example of a consistent turn which GRADUALLY got quicker as he went.

Maintaning a steady heart rate keeps the legs fresh.
